Today I upgraded my mid-2010 Mac Mini from 4GB to 8GB of RAM. The installation went well, however, I've noticed that whenever the screen saver engages, my monitor is automagically kicked into a 'Zoom In' mode from which I can't recover unless I zap the PRAM!
Open the launchpad Hold down on App that is stuck in 'Waiting.' Mode until it displays an 'X' in the upper left corner Press Enter and it should finish downloading or exit the infinite loop it's stuck in. This happens because Mac OS VMs have a non-generic property. This property is only for Mac OS VMs. After Restoring the VM, if this property is not found, then, the VM wouldn’t boot up. To boot up the Mac OS X VM successfully, following steps must be followed on.
This has already happened 3 times today.
Hi folks, I did not find a similar topic if it was already created. I moved from my old mac pro to a new one. I installed the Epic Games Launcher from scratch and the problem is that hangs with preparing. I tried to clean up the installation but it did not help. The last lines in the logs: 2020.03.22-23.51.40:868396Port. Two situations your Mac/MacBook gets stuck on login screen. Before you go further, you should know there are two kinds of Mac login stuck situations. It depends on if you have enabled FileVault to encrypt your startup drive. 1 Mac won't load past login screen after entering password. It happens to users who encrypt the system drive. Hold down the power button for 10-15 seconds to fully shutdown your Mac. Disconnect all external devices such as USB drives, printers, docks, etc. If you’re not using a Macbook, you can keep your keyboard and mouse plugged in. Now power on your Mac and if it starts successfully then it is one of your peripheral devices.
Whenever the Mac falls into screen saver mode, the OS seems to be increasing the zoom factor by a click or two but also making that zoom setting the new default resolution for the display. This means that I can continue to zoom in, but never out to the (correct) resolution.

The only way to fix this is to reboot the Mac and then hold down Option+Command+P+R while rebooting. After the 2nd beep, the monitor will be reset.

I'm running the latest Mountain Lion build along with a bluetooth Apple keyboard and Magic Trackpad. Time quest mac os. The monitor is an HP Pavilion 22bw connected via the HDMI port.
And as noted, I've upgraded the memory to 8GB using Crucial RAM. It does seem like the RAM is what has caused the Mac to manifest this bizarre behavior, but it is also the only RAM that seems to work with my mid-2010 Mac Mini. I recently bought some Kensington RAM that caused the Mac to lock up.
American roulette odds. For now, I've turned off the screen saver, but this is a workaround at best.

Any ideas what the heck is going on and whether there is a more permanent fix (short of swapping out the memory or disabling the screen saver)?
